Apply for a Registered Apprenticeship with IBEW Local 567
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 567 encourages anyone, who enjoys learning opportunities that go way beyond taking notes in a crowded lecture hall, working with their hands and moving from one jobsite to another, to consider joining our proud union.
Getting into a Department of Labor monitored registered apprenticeship program typically requires you to meet the following qualifications:
- Have a high school diploma, GED, two-year associate degree or higher. Applicants must provide an official transcript for high school or post high school education. All GED records must be submitted, if applicable.
- Veterans must submit your DD-214 in order to verify military training or experience, if you wish to receive consideration for any such training/experience.
- Provide evidence of successfully completing one full year of high school algebra with a passing grade or one year of post high school algebra with a passing grade.
- Present a driver’s license or state issued identification.
- Pass a drug test.
- Be able to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Pass an admittance exam.
- Be a minimum of 17 years of age to apply and be 18 years of age at the time of indenture.
- Qualify for an interview using the electrical trades aptitude test developed and validated by American Institutes for Research.
- Individuals, who can verify (proper documentation required) having worked a minimum of 8,000 hours specifically in the electrical construction trade, do not need to meet the requirements of items 1 and 3.
- Individuals, who have worked a minimum of 4,500 hours as a residential wireman under an IBEW/NECA contractor (proper documentation required), do not need to meet the requirements of items 1 and 3.
