Join IBEW Local 567’s Registered Apprenticeship Program
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 567 seeks apprentices to join our ranks of quality, licensed electricians.
Are you a recent high school or college graduate? Did you recently transition out of the military? Are you stuck working a job instead of starting a career and looking for a change?
There is a great demand for highly skilled and highly trained electricians and electrical workers. Some of the demand is the result of older generations of electricians retiring or getting ready to retire, while more recent generations were incorrectly led to believe the only path to a comfortable middle class lifestyle required going to college.
Before you make a mistake, end up with a mountain of college debt and find yourself in a job you don’t like, take a few minutes to learn about what IBEW 567 has to offer.
Whether you have no prior experience in the electrical industry, or you are currently working for an unorganized shop, IBEW Local 567 wants you.
Apprentices earn a livable wage while learning the trade. Additionally, they immediately receive excellent health insurance and great retirement benefits, providing a total overall package better than that offered by most non-union electrical contractors.
Apprenticeship is a great form of education that has worked for the building trades for nearly a century. It provides a livable wage that will only increase as you gain experience.
Earn while you learn approach
Avoid being hampered by racking up thousands of dollars of student debt and learn more about our registered apprenticeship program.
Our registered apprenticeship training program follows the earn while you learn model, which means apprentices learn the electrical trade, while working and earning a paycheck.
Apprentices work for the Local’s signatory contractors, alongside experienced journeymen, who help teach them valuable skills. Not only do the journeymen teach apprentices how to perform their work, but they help them learn how to work efficiently and safely, completing quality work on time and doing it right the first time.
Besides on-the-job training, apprentices also receive four years of tuition-free classroom instruction. Classes, which are three-hour sessions, take place two times per week, with an occasional Saturday at our training facility in Lewiston.
Classes are led by accredited professionals, who have spent years in the trade and are now dedicated to preparing the next generation of IBEW members.
The benefits of joining an apprenticeship are plentiful. All apprentices earn a livable wage, and as they progress through the registered apprenticeship program, they earn scheduled pay increases to reflect their improving skillset.
Apprentices can even earn college credit toward an associates degree through the JATC at little or no cost to them.
